From My Heart to Yours: Happy Heart Quilt

Mom and I made this quilt in the fall of 2009. It was a labor of love made with a happy heart.

Jan: Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States; Long ago my grandmother taught me how to crochet and sew and garden. These have brought me many hours of peace and happiness throughout my life. I love to create one-of-a-kind, handmade works of needleart. The library was also a big part of my life growing up and it is there I learned to love books and good stories. I love animals and am in love with nature. Some of the smallest and unassuming things are the most beautiful - feathers, rocks, pretty pieces of broken glass, flowers, etc. My mom once said that I'm a good cook, but I rather think that sometimes I cook good. Years of watching my grandmother and mom whip up fabulous dinners and desserts, seemingly out of nothing, made a lasting impression on me. Kindness really does matter, so do manners.
